About Our Community
Our Community
Lago Bello is a lakeside residential subdivision located in Brownsville, Texas. Built around a scenic common area lake, the community offers a unique blend of waterfront living with the warmth of South Texas. Homes range from lakefront properties to interior lots, all designed for single-family residential use.
The Lago Bello Home Owners Association, Inc. is a Texas nonprofit corporation established in 2017 to manage and maintain the subdivision's common areas, enforce community standards, and serve the interests of all homeowners. The Association is governed by the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&Rs) and the community Bylaws.
In March 2025, the community expanded with the annexation of Section 2, adding 18 new residential lots. All homeowners — whether in Section 1 or Section 2 — share the same rights, responsibilities, and access to common areas. Learn more about the development at lagobello.com.
HOA-Managed Infrastructure
The following infrastructure is private property owned and maintained by the HOA. Monthly dues fund the upkeep of these shared assets for all homeowners.
Lake
The common area lake at the heart of the community.
Gate
The community entrance gate and access system.
Streets
All interior streets within the subdivision.
Storm Drains
The HOA self-manages storm drainage to the lake.
Retention Wall
The lake retention wall protecting the shoreline.
Keep our lake clean. All storm drains in Lago Bello feed directly into our lake. It is critical that pollutants — oil, chemicals, yard waste, trash — are kept out of the storm drains to protect our water quality and the community's most valuable shared resource.
Utilities
The following providers serve the Lago Bello subdivision:
Electric
Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) provides 240V single-phase electrical service to all lots.
Water & Wastewater
East Rio Hondo Water Supply Corporation provides water and wastewater services to the subdivision.
Internet
Omni Fiber provides Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service to all 30 lots. Contact Omni Fiber directly to set up your internet service.
Storm Drainage
The HOA self-manages storm drainage throughout the subdivision, directing runoff to the community lake.
Architectural Control Committee (ACC)
All exterior modifications — including new construction, fences, landscaping changes, and additions — require prior written approval from the ACC. The committee is made up of three Association members appointed annually by the Board.
Before You Build or Modify
- Submit two sets of construction plans and specifications to the ACC, including a plot plan showing the proposed location on your lot.
- Wait for written ACC approval before starting any work.
- Complete all exterior work within six months of starting construction.
